Notes from the Winemaker

The Ornellaia 2022 "La Determinazione" is a full-bodied Italian red wine from the Bolgheri region, characterized by notes of dark fruit, tobacco, and cedar. The 2022 vintage was a challenging one with hot, dry weather followed by rain, which the winemakers overcame with strict vineyard selection and harvesting to create an elegant, well-balanced wine. The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Petit Verdot, with an ABV of 14.5%. 

Artist Pascale Marthine Tayou was invited to interpret the character of the 2022 vintage for the Vendemmia d’Artista project. In addition to creating a site-specific work, he styled a series of large-format bottles with his art. Furthermore, for the Bordeaux bottle, the artist designed a limited-edition label alongside the traditional label. One “La Determinazione” artistic label can be found in every case containing six 750ml bottles of Ornellaia 2022.
