Raymond Vineyards Generations Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 750ML
Raymond Vineyards Generations Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 750ML
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
Notes from the Winemaker
Raymond's Napa Valley Generations Cabernet Sauvignon is a striking dark ruby color in the glass and opens with intriguing aromas of blackberry and mocha that are interlaced with coffee and mineral notes. This is a classically dry wine that displays flavors of blackberry and both red and black currants that are enhanced by a touch of black cherry, ripe tannins and a long, lingering finish. Enjoy this wine over the next 5 to 10 years.
A deep garnet purple in color, the nose reveals black currant, baked black cherries, anise, boysenberries and a hint of candied violets. This is a fruit-forward, juicy and bold wine with layers of black and blue fruits, dark chocolate and a touch of mint and spice. Full-bodied and rich with round and finely-grained tannins there is a nice freshness on the long and fragrant finish.

Including 3% Petit Verdot, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Generations is a brilliant Cabernet Sauvignon that offers textbook blackcurrants, green tobacco, iron, and salty mineral aromas and flavors. Rich, full-bodied, nicely concentrated, and textured, it's a beautiful wine. Drink it any time over the coming 15-20 years.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Generations, containing 3% Petit Verdot, was aged in 61% new French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep garnet-purple colored, it is a little youthfully subdued. With coaxing the nose opens out to reveal compelling black currant pastilles, baked black cherries, boysenberries and tilled soil with suggestions of candied violets, aged meats and anise. Full-bodied, the palate is absolutely laden with black and blue fruit layers, framed by wonderfully ripe, grainy tannins and lovely background freshness, finishing long and fragrant.

A round, juicy wine with lots of berry and chocolate character. Some mint and spice to highlight the cabernet. Full body. Fruit-forward, but shows form and tension. Delicious now or hold.
