Notes from the Winemaker
The nose is fresh and approachable upon release, and opens up with a vibrant
mixture of sour cherry, rhubarb, iron essence and graphite. The palate is
succulent and filled with tart cranberries and blueberries. Generous acidity and
polished tannins bring into being a dynamic yet harmonious Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.
Reviews and Ratings
92 Points/Wine Spectator
Vibrant and sleekly structured, with lively raspberry, orange peel and forest floor accents that dance on a long, snappy finish. Drink now through 2029.
91 Points/Vinous
Bright ruby-red. Vibrant, finely etched red fruit and floral scents and hints of woodsmoke, mocha and baking spices. Shows very good energy and lift on the palate, offering appealingly sweet raspberry and cherry flavors that deepen as the wine opens up. Subtle tannins frame the long, silky finish, which strongly echoes the red berry and spice notes. Best after 2023.
90 Points/Wine Enthusiast
This Napa based négociant makes a wide portfolio of Pinot, including several from the Willamette Valley. This is sharp and focused, framing moderately ripe cherry fruit with slightly bitter tannins. There is a touch of hard rubber and it finishes with a slightly burnt note; give it extra aeration to open up.
