Winemaker Notes

2015 was an early harvest year for the Napa Valley. We started picking in mid-September, and finished before the middle of October - early for us. The crop was smaller than usual, which gives us great concentration of fruit and beautiful color.

Our 2015 Estate TRIO is a blend of the three Bordeaux varietals we grow - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. We created this blend to offer a wine that is approachable sooner, but which still has the great complexity and structure that Howell Mountain wines offer.

The 2015 TRIO has powerful aromas of raspberry and spice, and our trademark plum and cedar box. It’s fullbodied but with very supple tannins and a lively, palatecleansing finish. The flavors of bright berries and spice linger on the long finish.
